Nika Šantej (born in 2000, Slovenia) completed her undergraduate studies in autumn 2023 in field of Applied Arts at Glass and Ceramics department at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana. She also completed her high school education at the Art Gymnasium - Fine Arts Department at Gimnazija Celje - Center. Since 2022, she has been working as a demonstrator at Academy of Fine Arts and Design at Glass Department under the mentorship of prof. mag. Tanja Pak. Now she is one of the mentors in Glass and ceramisc lab at creative hub Center Rog in Ljubljana and is also establishing her own brand Nixi studio. She has exhibited in several group exhibitions and has had two solo exhibitions in Slovenia. In her works her primary medium is glass, which she combines with the fields of industrial design, 3D printing, photography, ceramics, video/animation, and sculpture. In her art, she always starts from her own being, feelings, perception of the world and society. She explores the interaction of glass with other materials in space and time - in nature and the environment. She then applies these feelings to both, art pieces and functional objects.
